Sr. Principal - Intelligence Engineering (AI/ML)

As a Senior Principal, you’ll design and deliver innovative Machine Learning solutions as part of intelligent products on Amazon Web Services, Azure and Google Cloud using core cloud data science tools, MLOps components, and other big data related technologies. Senior Principals balance their time between being an effective people leader and acting as a hands-on, senior technical lead for large scale, multi-functional product teams creating intelligent products for our clients. You’ll bring your passion for building Machine Learning solutions with state-of-the-art technology to tackle challenging situations and solve our client’s most complex problems. What You’ll DoAdvance the craft by developing and sharing Machine Learning thought leadership and vision, internally and to clients.Build a sense of community and encourage a culture of collaboration and curiosity by taking part in and coordinating opportunities, such as presenting at technical conferences, community groups, writing blog articles, and contributing to partner-coordinated workshopsHands-on with ML data platforms (e.g., AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML Studio, Google Cloud Vertex AI) Write in Python or other languages to deliver a wide variety of AI & Machine Learning solutionsRecommend and implement architecture to deploy machine leaning pipelines and CI/CD processes at scale for some of our most challenging engagementsStay abreast of new tools, packages, and Machine Learning techniques, while consistently pushing the limit of what is possible to deliver the best solutions for clientsCollaborate with Product Owners to apply Slalom’s Agile processes and be responsible for the initiation, delivery, and transition of projects for your team in a client-facing roleAct as an advocate and mentor to junior engineers and architects, providing them with career guidance, meaningful work, and professional development opportunitiesCollaborate with a variety of stakeholders across the Slalom organization and our clients to discuss their project needsSupport pre-sales conversations with our client’s most technical Machine Learning staffEnsure the delivery of successful outcomes for staffed teamsStaff, lead, and mentor machine learning practitioners and engineersShare learnings and project findings with the wider Slalom Machine Learning CommunityBe a trusted partner to clients and uphold Slalom’s valuesTravel may be required on a limited basis dependent on your client engagement or internal meetings/events.What You’ll BringExperience leading technical project delivery teamsExperience with implementing ML solutions with two, or more, cloud frameworks (e.g., AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML Studio, Google Cloud Vertex AI)Experience implementing machine learning models in productionExperience developing models and other data science work utilizing PythonFamiliarity, or strong desire to work with and gain an understanding of Generative AI, such as working with foundation models (GPT-3/4, Gemini, Mixtral, Llama, etc.)Experience with building computer vision models - PreferredAbility to lead exploratory data analysis within new subject matters or new data structuresFamiliarity with Agile project delivery (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP, and Lean)Experience with designing and engineering MLOps pipelines or CI/CD implementationsCollaborating with peers and leading peer reviews within your project teamTwo or more of the following other languages: Python, SQL, Java, C#, R, JavaScript, Go, SparkAbout UsSlalom is a fiercely human business and technology consulting company that leads with outcomes to bring more value, in all ways, always. For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and salary ranges:East Bay, San Francisco, Silicon Valley:Senior Principal: $229,000-$281,000 Boston, Los Angeles, New Jersey, New York City, Orange County, San Diego, Seattle, Washington DC, White Plains:Senior Principal: $210,000-$257,000All other locations:Senior Principal: $193,000-$236,000 In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors.
