Validation Lead — Embedded Systems & Connected DevicesDrive quality, reliability, and performance across next-generation embedded and connected technologies. This role offers the opportunity to lead validation efforts for advanced digital and device-based solutions, ensuring seamless integration, robust performance, and high-quality delivery across complex engineering programs.You will play a key role in shaping testing strategy, leading a small team, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver reliable, production-ready systems.Role OverviewAs a Validation Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end testing activities for embedded and connected systems. This includes defining validation strategies, executing test plans, and ensuring comprehensive coverage across hardware, software, and cloud-integrated environments.This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, requiring a strong ability to guide engineers, improve testing processes, and ensure high standards of quality across all deliverables.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & CoordinationLead a small team of validation engineers, managing workload distribution, mentoring team members, and ensuring accountability for project deliverables.Test Strategy & PlanningDefine and implement comprehensive validation strategies that ensure robust test coverage across systems, including edge cases and real-world scenarios.End-to-End Test ExecutionOwn the full testing lifecycle, including planning, execution, analysis, and documentation of results within product lifecycle management systems.Quality & Coverage OptimizationContinuously improve testing processes to enhance coverage, efficiency, and overall product quality—not just execution, but excellence in validation practices.OTA & System ValidationDesign and validate over-the-air update scenarios, ensuring reliability, stability, and performance of software updates in production environments.Automation & ToolingDevelop and implement automation tools and scripts to increase testing efficiency, reduce manual effort, and expand validation coverage.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with project managers, engineering teams, and external partners to align on timelines, priorities, and technical requirements.Integration SupportProvide technical support to partners integrating digital solutions, ensuring smooth transition from development through production release.Standards & DocumentationEstablish and maintain testing standards, including documentation practices, test environments, and reporting processes.Metrics & ReportingDefine and track key performance indicators related to testing quality, coverage, and progress. Deliver clear updates to stakeholders.Required QualificationsEmbedded Systems ValidationStrong experience leading validation efforts for embedded or device-based systems, including debugging complex issues and ensuring high-quality outcomes.OTA Testing ExpertiseExperience designing and validating over-the-air update scenarios, including handling edge cases and ensuring system reliability.Communication ProtocolsWorking knowledge of protocols such as CAN, J1939, or UDS, with the ability to analyze communication logs and troubleshoot issues.Testing ToolsExperience using tools such as CANalyzer or PCAN for message simulation, diagnostics, and test automation support.Test Strategy & CoverageProven ability to define testing scope, improve coverage, and create reusable test artifacts and metrics.Automation SkillsExperience developing scripts or tools to improve testing efficiency and scalability.Cloud & Integration AwarenessBasic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and their role in end-to-end system validation.Documentation & PLM SystemsExperience documenting test results, defects, and processes within product lifecycle management systems.Agile MethodologiesExperience working within Agile frameworks, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and progress tracking.LeadershipExperience leading small teams, assigning tasks, and mentoring engineers.Preferred QualificationsExperience designing or improving validation frameworks and processes.Experience defining and tracking validation KPIs and coverage metrics.Familiarity with connected device ecosystems or telematics systems.Experience building dashboards to visualize test progress and quality metrics.What Makes a Strong CandidateStrong technical problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to balance hands-on work with leadership responsibilities.Proactive mindset focused on improving processes and driving quality.Effective communicator who can collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.Commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality systems in complex environments.Why This Role MattersThis position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of advanced embedded and connected systems.
