This position will focus on Interconnection and Transmission Planning in the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) region. This role is aimed at developing internal expertise, technical presence and market knowledge as well as overseeing the technical development of an engineering team focused on transmission planning and interconnection in WECC. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic operational management and service/product development acumen to support our clients effectively and drive the continuous growth and development of our services and products.How you can make an impact:Provide guidance, knowledge, and experience to electrical engineers performing transmission planning and interconnection studies in WECC.Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes and emerging technologies and how these impact WECCCollaborate with Directors from the Utilities business unit to align technical solutions with client needs.Support in scenario development and completion of complex interconnection and transmission planning studies.Identify and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the interconnection and transmission planning processes.Support responses to RFPs, DOE grants, development of Scopes of Work and business development activities.Participate and coordinate industry involvement through conferences, speaking opportunities, technical paper submissions, etc.Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:Strong understanding of FERC, NERC, and WECC regulatory requirements and standards (CAISO preferred as well).Advanced knowledge of grid modernization and grid enhancing technologies.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Independent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.Proven team player skills with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent business, and technical writing.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.10+ years of experience in power system engineering roles.Experience in WECC Market.Active participation in industry taskforces and/or working group.Experience in managing and mentoring technical teams.Experience or familiarity in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, TARA, PSCAD and other transmission analysis tools).How we support you:Comprehensive health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, and vision with 100% premium coverage for you.Generous PTO and paid holidaysContinuous Education BenefitsWork with industry leaders401K, up to a 4% match (100% vested from day 1)Flexible Work including hybrid and remote possibilities based on position.
