Process Engineer - Precision Machining
TekPro is partnered with a leading precision component manufacturer to hire a Process Engineer who is eager to develop their manufacturing expertise in a hands-on machining environment. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside engineers and production teams to support new product launches, improve manufacturing processes, and drive quality and efficiency initiatives across the shop floor. It's an excellent opportunity for an early career engineer looking to build a strong foundation in precision manufacturing and continuous improvement.What You’ll Be DoingDevelop and implement efficient manufacturing processes for new and existing componentsReview customer prints, specifications, and requirements to determine optimal production methodsBuild and maintain BOMs, routings, and item data within the ERP systemDesign and improve tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions to support production and quality goalsCollaborate with production teams to troubleshoot machining challenges and improve process flowSupport estimating efforts by evaluating prints, tolerances, and process considerationsMaintain process documentation, including work instructions and process drawingsWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing process engineering1-2+ years in CNC machining, fabrication, or similar precision manufacturing environmentExperience with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, NX (Unigraphics), SolidWorks, or similarAbility to interpret detailed engineering drawings and apply GD&T principlesExperience designing fixturing and selecting tooling for complex partsProblem-solving skills related to machining strategy, tooling, and workholdingAbility to sequence operations to balance quality, efficiency, and costComfortable working cross-functionally with production, quality, customers, and suppliersWhat Sets You ApartHands-on mindset with the ability to move from concept to executionStrong communication skills when working with both internal teams and external customersContinuous improvement mentality with a focus on process optimization and quality systems (QMS)
