Teacher Assistant

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team afternoons. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our young students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, possess excellent behavior management skills, and a passion for nurturing their growth and well-being. Responsibilities - Assist teachers in planning, preparing, and implementing engaging lessons and activities for children aged 2-5 years old - Provide individualized support to students with special needs and varying abilities - Encourage children to develop their social skills, independence, and self-confidence - Monitor and maintain a safe and organized classroom environment - Use first aid and emergency procedures as needed - Engage with children in play-based learning and provide feedback and guidance - Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance - Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop curriculum and implement lesson plans - Support children in their daily routines, including mealtime and naptime - Foster a positive and nurturing atmosphere that promotes learning and creativity Skills - Experience working with children, preferably in a daycare or preschool setting - Strong understanding of childhood development and behavior management - Ability to provide one-on-one support to students with varying abilities - Knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures - Familiarity with nannying and childcare practices - Experience working in a classroom or educational setting - Ability to engage with children in play-based learning - Toddler care experience is a plus - Preschool experience is preferred - Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities - Commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members - Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Job Type: Part-time Pay: $15.13 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week Benefits: 401(k) Childcare Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid time off Professional development assistance Schedule: 4 hour shift Monday to Friday No weekends Experience: Teaching: 1 year (Preferred) Childcare: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred) Ability to Commute: Montville, NJ 07045 (Required) Ability to Relocate: Montville, NJ 07045: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
