Electrification Services Application Engineer
Overview:
In this role you support the regional commercial team by delivering technically solid field service proposals for power delivery, utilization, and automation systems. You identify value-added service solutions for a broad range of customers while working remotely across several states with travel up to 50%. You lead technical proposals, site assessments, and coordination with sourcing and operations to shape competitive bids. This role combines engineering know-how with strong communication to drive regional growth and impactful customer outcomes. Responsibilities:
- Drive business growth by identifying opportunities and contributing to regional sales, orders, profitability, and quality goals
- Develop and present technical solutions aligned with customer needs and prepare high-quality proposal content
- Lead project and proposal execution including site assessments, material/labor planning, cost estimates, and schedules
- Support engineering work scopes and competitive analysis within proposals
- Ensure operational alignment by communicating fulfillment requirements to sourcing and operations
- Document competitor activities and support New Product Introduction (NPI) programs
- Engage with customers across multiple levels, delivering clear, impactful presentations and proposals
Key requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 6 years of experience OR High School Diploma with 10 years of experience
- Experience in application/field engineering for power delivery products and systems
- Experience with Power Distribution upgrades, Relay upgrades, and Arc Flash Mitigation Solutions
- Experience reviewing customer specifications, developing proposals, and managing contract development and negotiations
- Strong oral and written communication and ability to engage with all organizational levels
- Interpersonal and leadership skills with a customer-focused mindset and team orientation
- Creative problem solver capable of writing technical specifications and proposals leveraging ABB portfolio
- Authorized to work in the US for ABBStrong communication abilities
