About the RoleThe Water Resources group at AKRF is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to be based out of the Philadelphia, PA office. This individual will serve a key function in the design and management of a broad range of projects for both our municipal and private sector clients. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration to help AKRF shape the future of the region.Job Responsibilities:Provide project and technical management of major engineering design projects including site layout, grading, drainage/storm sewer systems, stormwater management, erosion & sediment pollution control, traffic control, and related supporting disciplines.Lead/support tasks including preparation of site/civil engineering drawings, specifications and reports for projects.Lead/support tasks including preparation of permit packages and municipal land development applications for projects.Lead/support tasks including preparation of construction documents and bid documentsLead/support construction administration tasks including answering RFIs and submittals, reviewing shop drawings, reviewing pay applications, preparing site observation reports, preparing punchlists, and other related construction tasks.Lead/support project management responsibilities including managing discrete technical tasks, project schedule, and task budgets.Day-to-day project communication and coordination with clients and other design consultants.Assist in proposal writing and fee development.Provide direction, delegation, mentoring, and training to staff engineers.Essential Requirements:5-8 years of experienceBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a related disciplinePennsylvania and New Jersey P.E. or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employmentProficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D is essentialProficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis/modeling is essential including HydroCAD, HydraFlow, or similar.
