Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller

*Job Title: Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller* *Location: Houston, TX* *Duration: Fulltime* *Overview:* We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support a fast-growing, multi-division organization. This role leads day-to-day accounting operations, ensures accurate financial reporting, maintains strong accounting processes and controls, and partners closely with the Controller to support financial discipline and organizational growth. This is a hands-on leadership role for a seasoned accounting professional who can operate independently with minimal training, improve processes, and serve as a key contributor in building scalable financial operations. *What You’ll Own:* * Month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting support * General ledger integrity, accounting accuracy, and operational accounting processes * Oversight of AP, AR, payroll processes, and cash activity * Construction accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, and profitability analysis * Accounting systems, workflow improvements, and process optimization * Internal controls, SOPs, audit support, and compliance processes * Financial analysis, budgeting support, and special projects *What We’re Looking For:* * 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience * Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar leadership background * Strong GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliation, and close process experience * Construction accounting experience, including job costing and WIP reporting * Experience with ERP/accounting systems and process improvement * CPA preferred * Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and drive improvements with minimal oversight Pay: From $95,911.05 per year Experience: * Progressive accounting : 10 years (Required) * held as a Controller, Manager or similar leadership roles: 5 years (Required) Work Location: In person
