Lab patient flow volunteer

Role Purpose:To support laboratory staff by assisting with patient flow and identification, ensuring an efficient and welcoming experience for patients while maintaining safety and privacy standards. This role does not involve clinical or medical duties.Key Responsibilities:Greet patients in the laboratory waiting area in a courteous and professional mannerEscort patients from the waiting area to the appropriate laboratory space as directed by laboratory staffVerify patient identity by confirming full name and date of birth prior to handoff to laboratory personnelCommunicate clearly and respectfully with patients and staffMaintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all privacy and safety guidelinesNotify laboratory staff promptly of patient arrival or any concernsScope of Role / Limitations:This is a non-clinical role; volunteers will not perform specimen collection, medical procedures, or provide medical adviceVolunteers will not access medical records or discuss test resultsAll clinical tasks remain the responsibility of licensed laboratory staffRequired Skills & Qualifications:Strong communication and interpersonal skillsProfessional demeanor and reliabilityAbility to follow instructions and protocolsComfort interacting with patients in a healthcare environmentCommitment to confidentiality and patient privacyTraining & Supervision:Volunteers will receive orientation on laboratory workflow, patient identification procedures, and confidentiality expectationsVolunteers will work under the supervision of designated laboratory staff
