Carpenter (Maintenance) Civil

CarpenterTo provide construction carpentry skills to projects.Responsibilities:Saw, shape, and fasten wood to build houses, buildings, cabinets, doors, and other objects made of wood.Use both power and hand tools, such as hammers, saws, drills, and chisels.Fasten wood with nails, screws, bolts, and glue.Carpentry work is divided into two categories--rough and finish.Rough carpenters: Use unfinished wood and other building materials to frame houses, build scaffolding, and make forms to be used to mold concrete for bridges, highways, and house foundations.Finish carpenters: Cut and fit doors, windows, and interior molding, build and install cabinets, lay hardwood floors, and panel rooms.Responsible for observing and complying with all company safety regulations and industry standards.Performs other duties as required.Qualifications:1-2 year apprenticeship/on the job training.Qualifications typically include a high school diploma or equivalent with course work in woodworking, mechanical drawing, and mathematics.Experience acquired through an apprenticeship/On the Job training program.Working knowledge of structural design, common framing systems, how to read blueprints, and simple layouts.It requires standing, squatting, stooping, bending, and climbing, must have a good sense of balance.Carpenters use rough materials, sharp tools, and powerful equipment and must be aware of the hazards.One to two year of experience.
