Chief Financial Officer & Head of Human ResourcesFull-Time | Exempt | Safety-Sensitive Role Location: Onsite Hours: Mon-Fri 8-5 Compensation: $150,000OverviewThis role is responsible for overseeing the financial and human resources functions of a privately held, operationally focused organization. The CFO & Head of HR serves as a key member of the leadership team and plays a hands?on role in financial stewardship, compliance, people operations, and internal controls.This position is ideal for a finance leader who enjoys breadth, ownership, and direct involvement in the day?to?day operations of the business.Key ResponsibilitiesFinance & Accounting LeadershipMonitor daily banking activity, including ACH, positive pay, and cash controlsOversee cash management, internal controls, and daily cash reportingMaintain relationships with banking partners and merchant service providersOversee all accounting operations, including payroll, AR/AP, general ledger, fixed assets, and reconciliationsPrepare and oversee financial statements in accordance with GAAPManage all financial reporting to ownership and leadershipCoordinate federal, state, and property tax filings with external tax professionalsAudit, Insurance & Risk ManagementLead annual financial audits with independent auditorsManage and complete audits related to workers’ compensation, insurance, and OSHA requirementsOversee commercial insurance programs, renewals, claims, and reportingEnsure proper expense recognition and period accuracyHuman Resources LeadershipProvide oversight of all HR functions, including compliance and policy administrationMaintain and update the employee handbook, job descriptions, and evaluation processesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment lawsPartner with an external HR/payroll provider to ensure compliance and best practicesOversee employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) administrationEnsure accurate and confidential maintenance of employee recordsIT & Administrative OversightServe as point of contact for internal IT needs, coordinating with external IT consultants as neededOversee administrative and facilities staff, including front office and housekeeping personnelManage office systems, software updates, and technology planningLeadership & CollaborationAct as an integral member of the executive leadership teamCollaborate with operations, sales, and marketing leadership on company initiativesHelp develop, document, and implement internal processes and controlsSupport strategic decision?making through financial insight and operational awarenessSupervisory ResponsibilitiesAccounting/finance staffAdministrative/reception staffHousekeeping/facilities personnelWork EnvironmentPrimarily office?based with periodic exposure to shop or operational areasMust adhere to all safety protocols and PPE requirements when in operational areasQualificationsEducation & CredentialsBachelor’s degree in Accounting requiredCPA strongly preferredOngoing continuing professional education required if CPA?credentialedExperience10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financePrior CFO, Controller, or equivalent leadership experienceDemonstrated experience overseeing HR functions and complianceStrong background in cash management, audits, and insuranceExperience managing external vendors (auditors, tax professionals, IT consultants)Skills & CompetenciesHigh degree of integrity, professionalism, and accountabilityStrong organizational and time management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Excel, Outlook, and general business systemsAbility to lead teams while remaining hands?onComfortable working in a lean, operational environmentSchedule & TravelFull?time, Monday–Friday, standard business hoursOccasional travel may be requiredSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
