They must also respect what has been accomplished at the Company and can learn and add their own value and knowledge to further develop people strategies to recruit, train, develop and retain World Class Associates for the Strategic Business Unit and assist in its growth plan and in achieving profitability goals and value creation efforts.Reporting Relationships: This position will report to the Regional Operations Manager and will oversee the plant of approximately 25-30 team membersLocation - Millwood-2765 Michigan Ave Rd NE building 6, Cleveland, TN 37323Position Summary: The Plant Manager is responsible for managing total plant operations and delivering superior customer satisfaction by driving results and exceeding expectations in the key areas of safety, service, quality and cost. Ensures the overall operation of the plant and its production, housekeeping and safety goals are met. Supports the enforcement of company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Supports the core values of the company by performing the following duties:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Safety/Compliance/People Drive Safety improvements (Zero Harm) across the Plant Provide leadership to Plant staff to effectively recruit, train, develop, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities Directs the work of all facility employees - establishes production and shipping schedules based on availability of raw and finished goods. Directly responsible for all employment decisions at the facility. Continually review operations activities, including local transportation activities to maintain compliance with all Federal, State and local laws (OSHA, DOL, DOJ, EPA, FD) Direct Plant administration to ensure compliance with established policiesService/Quality Develop a balanced approach to maximize the best operational practices and cost efficiencies across the Plant while maintaining critical quality and raw material utilization standards that are necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and Plant profitability Drive efficiencies in asset utilization through proper transportation scheduling, dispatch, & driver management while meeting customer expectationsCost/Process Ensure the consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the Plant and in accordance with the PMS Commercial Organization, Global Supply Chain Responsible for the cost and yield performance of the Plant in partnership with the overall P&L of the Plant Own and drive cost control initiatives and process control within the Plant Implementing the output of the plant network optimization, cell management Drive compliance through teamwork for all Standard Operating Procedures within the Plant Identify and execute Lean opportunities to effectively eliminate waste Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages subordinate supervisors, Plant Supervisors, Administrator, Maintenance, Shipping, and Receiving Departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable Federal and State laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Skills & CompetenciesLanguage Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and writtenMath Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
