Process Engineer 3

Overview In this role you drive process engineering work for film and hardware development at Mattson Technology. You will design experiments, analyze data, and report findings to support technology transfer and customer-facing problem solving. You’ll troubleshoot complex process issues, verify new processes at customer sites, and contribute to reliability projects. Your work directly supports scalable, high‑quality semiconductor manufacturing solutions while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to meet safety and performance goals. This is a hands‑on, data‑driven role with opportunities to influence process improvements in a dynamic environment. ResponsibilitiesDesign experiments, collect data, analyze data and compile reports on process engineering experimentsPerform root cause analysis, troubleshoot problems and resolve difficult process engineering issuesMeasure film properties, interpret data, and make conclusions and recommendationsSupport transfer of technology to field staff and customers, interact with account team and customers to resolve problemsManage process development and reliability projectsProcess verification and troubleshooting at various customer sitesDetailed documentation for presentations and technical issues during development and troubleshootingMonitor hardware performance and verify stability of newly developed processes; modify hardware as needed to improve results Key requirementsMS/PhD or BS in engineering, material science or related field and ~3 years' experienceDemonstrated hands-on experimental experience in a technical environmentExcellent data analysis skills including numerical and statistical analysis and graphical presentation of multi-dimensional dataAbility to work independently under deadline pressure in a dynamic environmentAbility to work safely in a laboratory with high-energy machinery and hazardous gasesWillingness to travel outside the US up to 20% for project workStay informed about safety and health regulations affecting operationsindependence under pressurecross-functional collaborationproblem solving under ambiguitydata analysisroot cause analysisexperimental design and data interpretation
