Dockworker (Hostler) What you'll need to succeed as a Dockworker (Hostler) at XPO:Minimum qualifications:Be at least 18 years of ageA valid driver's licenseAble to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculatorTo pass a company-paid, post-offer, pre-hire (physical essential functions) testAvailable to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekendsPreferred qualifications:Tractor/trailer experience (3 axle tractor, 53' trailer)Dock/warehouse experience in the transportation industryForklift experience in a freight/less-than-truckload environmentExperience loading and unloading trailersBasic written and verbal communication skillsDesire to succeed with strong attention to detailAbout the Dockworker (Hostler) job:Pay, benefits and more:Pay starts at $23.33/hourFull health insurance on day oneLife and disability insuranceEarn up to 13 days PTO over your first year9 paid company holidays401(k) option with company matchEmployee stock purchase planEducation assistanceThis is a Motor Carrier Act Exempt positionWhat you'll do on a typical day:Move trailers throughout the propertyUse appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jack and forkliftEfficiently load freight a minimum of 1 day per weekOperate a hostler in all types of weather; safely walk and stand for extended periodsSafely operate heavy equipment, including moving, positioning and connecting/disconnecting a converter dolly with an average weight/pull force of approximately 128 lbs.Work in a safe, efficient manner while adhering to company safety policiesUse mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipmentsDockworker (Hostler)s are required to:Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 70 lbs. occasionallyReach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneelWalk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slipperyAbout XPO:XPO is a top ten global provider of transportation services, with a highly integrated network of people, technology and physical assets.
