Cloud Security Engineer (GCP) - 100% remote (CST) & FTE/Direct-hire Optomi, in partnership with a rapidly growing SaaS organization, is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to help scale and secure a large Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.This is a hands-on engineering role focused on cloud security operations, remediation, automation, and proactive security partnership across product engineering teams.The ideal candidate has deep experience securing GCP environments, remediating cloud security findings directly, and building scalable automation and detection workflows.ResponsibilitiesReview, prioritize, and remediate Security Command Center (SCC) findingsMonitor and investigate cloud security events within Chronicle/SecOpsManage IAM permissions, service accounts, and cloud access controlsPartner directly with engineering and DevOps teams to implement secure cloud patternsBuild automation and operational security playbooksTune cloud detections and reduce alert fatigueParticipate in incident response and PagerDuty rotationWrite and maintain Terraform and infrastructure-as-code security controlsHelp mature cloud security operations across a rapidly growing product environmentRequired ExperienceStrong hands-on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experienceExperience with SCC, IAM, and cloud security remediationAbility to implement fixes directly within cloud environmentsExperience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-codeStrong understanding of cloud vulnerabilities and misconfiguration managementExperience working cross-functionally with engineering teamsStrong communication and collaboration skillsPreferred ExperienceChronicle / SecOps experienceKubernetes / GKE securitySecurity automation and playbook developmentCI/CD securityDetection engineering
