Mental Health Therapist

Futures Recovery Healthcare is a state-licensed, Joint Commission accredited behavioral healthcare provider located in Tequesta, Florida of Palm Beach County. Our medical, clinical, resident assistant, admissions, outreach, executive, culinary, alumni, and intake teams all work together to meet a patient where they are and allow them to heal and recover in a safe and nurturing environment, which is essential for whole healing and life-long recovery.We are currently seeking a Primary Therapist with experience in either addictions and/or mental health disorders for our Mental Health Program. This position will be responsible for providing a strong therapeutic relationship to the patient, coordinating the course of treatment within the multidisciplinary treatment team through the formulation, implementation and guidance of a written treatment plan based upon assessed needs. The Primary Therapist will provide support to the family, integrating them in the treatment process when possible. The Primary Therapist will address relapse prevention as well as participate in the coordination of continuing care plan(s).Position DutiesFacilitate individual, group and family therapy in accordance with license requirements, CARF/DCF standards and Futures of Palm Beach policiesPerforms comprehensive assessment and treatment planning:Elicits comprehensive information from the client and collateral sourcesAnalyzes and interprets the information to develop an accurate diagnostic impressionTranslates and prioritizes information from the assessment into treatment goals and measurable objectivesIncludes the client in the treatment planning process and recognizes the client’s strengths and limitationsEstablishes appropriate criteria to evaluate progress, and revises the plan as the client’s needs changeCommunicates rights and expectations for behavior to clients in a consistent and respectful mannerProvide didactic/educational lecturesRespond to off hour issues/concerns in a timely and effective mannerEffectively communicates relevant clinical information to the patient, family and Clinical staffRequirements And CharacteristicsMaster degree from an accredited school in behavioral sciences, counseling, or related human services.Licensed Professional- LMHC, LMFT or LCSW, and/or Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) , REQUIRED A comprehensive understanding of the emotional and behavioral effects of addictionDemonstrates a thorough understanding of family systemsDemonstrates knowledge of the effects of addiction on the user and significant others; knowledge of the stages of drug use.Demonstrates knowledge of the medical and psychiatric disorders commonly associated with addiction; knowledge of current research related to addiction and dual diagnosis.Recognizes the behavior and attitudes of different stages of recovery.Demonstrates knowledge of the most commonly accepted models of recovery and relapse prevention, including pharmacotherapy, 12-step programs and the multidisciplinary approach.Demonstrates knowledge of basic diagnostic criteria for substance use, suicide risk, withdrawal symptoms and major psychiatric disorders.Demonstrate knowledge of addiction and dual diagnosis as it affects persons from diverse backgrounds; is sensitive to different cultural, ethnic, racial, socio-economic, religious and gender values as they may affect recovery.Demonstrate sensitivity in working with physically and mentally disabled within the larger treatment population.Exceptional one on one communication skillsStrong attention to detail as well as strong organization skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to use clinical software and other software programBenefits401(K) Matching ProgramHealth, Dental, and Vision InsurancePaid Time OffWe offer State Supervision to eligible employeesLook us up at https://futuresrecoveryhealthcare.com/GMH Associates is an Equal Opportunity Employer#FUT123
