A co-op in this position will work primarily in the Quality Department.Job ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the development and implementation of projects aimed at improving customer satisfaction, quality systems, and operational efficiency Monitor, analyze, and report customer and supplier quality metricsParticipate on product launch teams to complete requirements for quality engineering, including product scorecards, control plans, PFMEAs, and process flows Manage assigned customer requirementsContribute and participate in ISO9000/IATF16949 compliance and auditingComplete Gage R&R and Capabilities studies using statistical tools Develop quality corrective actions as assignedConduct competitive baseline analysis for warranty performanceConduct warranty trend analysis (specific product failure analysis of warranty returns) Manage the warranty critical failure mode process Investigate and contribute to the resolution of customer or supplier issues (potential for travel as required)Support merger and acquisition processes Assist with process improvement projects, including use of six sigma tools and lean and project management skills as requiredSupport supplier improvement projects, including VDA audits and supplier evaluationsServe as a liaison for Plant Quality, Supplier Quality, Operations personnel, Engineering, and other functional disciplinesEligibility RequirementsCurrently attending an accredited college or university3.0 cumulative GPA or higher Resourceful – not intimidated by substantial assignmentsSelf motivated and able to learn new assignments quickly Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team-focused environmentEnthusiastic work approach Knowledge of statistical tools preferredProficient in Microsoft® Office Tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access/QueryGENERAL INFORMATIONHours and Location: 40-hour work week on-site in Avon, Ohio (20 miles west of Cleveland) or Huntington, Indiana
