Job Summary:
We are actively seeking an experienced Area Service Manager. This position will be responsible for coordinating a group of highly skilled technicians as well as participating in resolving complicated maintenance requests, training new service techs and ensuring adherence to all company maintenance processes, procedures and standards. The following bullets are presented but not limited to.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage a team of 2 to 15 highly skilled technicians
Having the knowledge and ability to perform home maintenance tasks and manage complex projects.
Ability to diagnose complex home maintenance issues.
Training new Technicians in company policies, procedures, standards and maintenance tasks.
Providing field support for Service Technicians on complex issues.
Up to 25% of travel may be required.
Additional responsibilities and exceptions may include emergency maintenance tasks (for example natural disasters).
Keep up to date notes and documentation on each work order within our software programs.
Ensure and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction to be measured by resident surveys upon completion of each work order.
Cover Service Technician’s territory when they are on PTO.
Manage and ensure there is enough work coverage of techs in all of Houston during the entire year.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to maintain professionalism and a strong customer-focused demeanor with demanding clientele.
Excellent time management skills, detail-orientation and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, along with advanced conflict resolution skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills and proficient in English. Must be able to articulate needs and convey information verbally and in writing effectively with employees, customers, supervisors, and co-workers throughout the organization.
Knowledge of management methods and sound employee relations techniques with an ability to connect to staff, troubleshoot problems and help teams collaborate, as necessary.

Ability to lift 50lbs and walk up and downstairs.
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record (including toll tags) for the last 5 years.
Education and Experience:
Associate degree or
3 plus years' maintenance / service management experience
Property Management software experience a plus
