About the Role:The Dishwasher/Steward plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of the kitchen and dining areas within a food service establishment. This position ensures that all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to support smooth kitchen operations and uphold health and safety regulations. The role involves working efficiently in a fast-paced environment to manage the flow of clean items to kitchen staff and servers, thereby contributing to overall customer satisfaction. Additionally, the Dishwasher/Steward assists with waste disposal, kitchen organization, and may support other cleaning duties as needed to maintain a safe and orderly workspace. This position is essential for the seamless functioning of the kitchen team and directly impacts the quality and hygiene of the dining experience.Minimum Qualifications:Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.Basic understanding of sanitation and hygiene standards in a food service setting.Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.Physical capability to lift and move heavy kitchen items safely.Legal authorization to work in the United States.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in a dishwasher or steward role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.Familiarity with commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning chemicals.Knowledge of workplace safety standards and food handling regulations.Strong time management skills to handle high-volume periods efficiently.Good communication skills to coordinate with kitchen and service staff.Responsibilities:Operate dishwashing machines and manually wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans to ensure cleanliness and sanitation.Sort and stack clean dishes and utensils in designated areas for easy access by kitchen and service staff.Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and work surfaces by sweeping, mopping, and wiping down as required.Dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables in accordance with health and safety guidelines.Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning tasks and organization to support efficient kitchen operations.Skills:
