We are early in this journey and intentionally taking a measured approach given the risks associated with data security, confidentiality, and AI model training.This internship is designed for someone who can help us answer a fundamental question: Where should we start with AI—and how do we do it responsibly?Duration: Summer 2026, 10–12 weeksKey ResponsibilitiesResearch practical AI use cases relevant to a semiconductor environment (e.g., Sales, HR, engineering workflows, manufacturing support, and corporate functions)Analyze how peer companies and leading organizations are deploying AI tools while protecting confidential and proprietary informationEvaluate AI platforms (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, enterprise copilots) with a focus on data privacy, model training risk, and enterprise controlsIdentify "low-risk, high-impact" opportunities for AI adoption within AOSDevelop guidelines and recommendations for safe and compliant use of AI, including guardrails around sensitive dataLiaise with external AI vendors/partners to understand capabilities, limitations, and security frameworksSynthesize findings into clear, executive-ready recommendations, including a proposed starting roadmapQualificationsCurrently pursuing a degree in Business, HR, Engineering, Data Science, or related fieldStrong research and critical thinking skills; able to separate hype from practical applicationInterest in AI with an appreciation for data privacy, security, and compliance considerationsAbility to communicate complex topics in a clear, business-oriented wayComfortable navigating ambiguity—we are building the playbook as we goWhat You'll GainHands-on experience shaping how a global semiconductor company approaches AI adoptionExposure to real-world considerations around AI risk, governance, and data protectionOpportunity to interact with leading AI providers and influence early-stage strategyVisibility with senior leadership through presentations and recommendationsAlpha and Omega Semiconductor, Inc is committed to diversity in our workplace.
