Classification Title:Adjunct – Drafting Instructor (Pool)Department:Drafting TechnologyPhysical Demands:Able to traverse campus, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, vision, hearing, and talking.Job Summary/Basic Function:Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College.Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.Job duties include, but are not limited to:Reports to the Division Chair of Mechanical and Construction TechnologiesTeaches Drafting classes using traditional and alternative delivery methodsCCPICollege benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.Minimum Qualifications:This position requires one of the following:Baccalaureate degree in drafting technologyBaccalaureate degree in a closely related field (e.g., mechanical engineering or civil engineering or Architecture)Associate's degree in drafting technology and 3 years non-teaching related work experienceDemonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populationsInterest in alternative instructional delivery methodsExcellent written and oral communication skillsOther qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one's value to the institutionExceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are metDesirable Qualifications:Teaching experience at the community college levelBilingual language skills preferred
