MULTIMEDIA PRODUCER

Position Title Multimedia Producer Posting Information Posting Number: SRGV8982 Location: University Marketing and Communications FTE: 1 Responsibilities Plan, shoot, produce, write, direct, and edit commercial‑quality multimedia projects using photography and videography to support the University’s communication and marketing goals. Collaborate with supervisor to absorb creative direction while proactively contributing a valuable point of view to each project. Participate in content production meetings; assist with content development and message strategy; manage production schedules, locations, equipment, and support staff. Record material for content using professional video cameras; set up lighting, sound, and other technical details; collaborate with clients for revisions as needed. Perform non‑linear editing with software such as Motion, After Effects, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, and Lightworks; design motion graphics and graphics; encode and archive videos; ensure captions and accessibility standards. Prepare photographs for production; edit and enhance images using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Pixlr, and Affinity Photo; submit photos to writers and content specialists; assist with photo cutlines and tagging for social media, special projects, and the website. Capture and mix audio; blend recordings to achieve optimal sound quality and synchronize with visual cues. Maintain an archive of all multimedia projects and research digital archives to retrieve photographs and videos as requested. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (required). Two (2) years of experience in video and still photography shooting, production, and editing using industry best practices and advanced tools. Work experience may be considered in lieu of education on a 1‑on‑1 basis. Strong creative portfolio in both video and still photography demonstrating quality, detail, and storytelling. Excellent technical knowledge of video and photographic equipment, editing software, and associated hardware. Proficiency with photography principles, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Pixlr, and Affinity Photo. Proficiency in cinematography and videography principles from scripting through final editing, and high proficiency with video motion software including Motion, After Effects, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, and Lightworks. Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent attention to detail. Ability to collaborate, manage multiple projects, and make quick, quality decisions. Strong sense of customer service and professionalism when interacting with clients. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment. Ability to learn new production and post‑production tools and emerging shooting styles rapidly. Working Conditions The position requires working in an office or studio environment as well as field work. Some travel and weekend work are required. The employee may need to lift or carry objects up to 20 pounds. Miscellaneous Position is full‑time (1.0 FTE). Grant‑funded position: No. Minimum salary: Commensurate with experience.
