Middle School Operation Assistant

Equality Charter Middle School is seeking an energetic, adaptable, and highly organized individual to join our Operations team. This role supports both school operations and food service functions, and requires a collaborative team player who can thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing school environment while working with a diverse student and staff population.Key Responsibilities:Administrative & Office SupportProvide general administrative and clerical supportAnswer phones and respond to emails in a timely and professional mannerPrepare and modify documents, including correspondence, reports, and memosEnter data into student information systems and generate reportsSchedule appointments and support daily office operationsCommunicate effectively with parents, students, and staffOrganize staff supply rooms and assist in resolving administrative issuesMaintain confidentiality of sensitive information, including lunch applications and student recordsStudent & School Operations SupportHelp to manage student IDs and MetroCardsSupport enrollment processes and compliance requirementsAssist with school-wide operational needs as directed by the Director of Operations or Office ManagerPerform additional duties as assignedFood Service & Cafeteria OperationsSet up equipment, and prepare cafeteria for daily serviceMaintain consistency in food preparation and service for students and staffReceive, inspect, and sign for food deliveriesMonitor and maintain kitchen and refrigeration equipmentManage inventory of food, supplies, and materials (including rotating stock and checking expiration dates)Keep accurate records of meal counts and adjust ordering as neededmanage field trip and special event mealsClean and sanitize kitchen, counters, and equipmentPrepare cafeteria for next day operations and secure when not in usePerform tasks that may require lifting (e.g., milk crates, food containers)Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma required, College degree preferred.Food Handler's Certificate requiredPrior experience in a school cafeteria or food service setting preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based systemsStrong organizational skills with attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentCustomer-service oriented with strong interpersonal skillsReliable, flexible, and able to complete tasks from start to finishAbout Equality Charter SchoolEquality Charter School provides a high level of academic rigor in a nurturing learning community that prepares scholars to be college- and career-ready.
