Juliet, TNPosition summary: The Local Route Driver will transport products and supplies between two sites in Mt. Juliet, TN. This role will also support the team in receiving, storing, and distributing materials, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work environment.Job DescriptionEssential functions and responsibilities:Operate company vehicles safely, following company vehicle policySafely drive a light vehicle to move merchandise or packages between distribution centers and business locationsVehicle Maintenance: Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tires, lights, and fluid levels. Reporting any mechanical issues to the managerRoute Planning: Using GPS and maps to follow the most efficient path to ensure on-time deliveryCollaborate with team members to meet daily operational goalsCheck and validate all paperwork when completing transfer manifestsLoading & Unloading: Organizing the vehicle for efficiency and physically moving items (often ranging from 50 to 80 lbs) using hand trucks or pallet jacksVerify inventory against shipping papers, collecting payments, and obtaining delivery signatures.Verify the item, quantity, and condition of product being picked to ensure shipment accuracyMaintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulationsMaintain consistent attendance and punctuality to ensure smooth operationsFollow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all timesNonessential functions:Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.Assist with basic maintenance tasks, such as sweeping, cleaning, and minor equipment checks.Success factors/job competencies:Attention to detail; must be able to read, interpret and validate shipping documents and packaging requirements.Ability to operate all warehouse tools and equipment in a safe and efficient mannerTeamwork; assist in training staff as requested by supervisorsBasic math skillsAbility to communicate effectively with co-workersMaintain focusCommitment to company values of music, integrity, ingenuity, respect and alignmentPhysical demands and work environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
