You'll serve as the County's eyes and ears on-site - ensuring work meets required standards, resolving field issues, and escalating concerns when needed. You'll build relationships with contractors and consultants while playing a vital role in delivering high-quality public infrastructure.Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):Conducting field inspections of capital infrastructure construction projects (sewer, stormwater, roadway, and more)Monitoring ongoing work and ensuring it meets minimum standards, regulations, and approved plansPreparing clear and detailed documentation including inspection daily reportsReviewing construction documents and specifications to identify compliance and constructability issuesSupporting design reviews by providing real-world constructability insightsResponding to field issues and determining the steps to achieve a successful resolutionHave a strong understanding of construction methods, quality, and standardsTo review the complete classification, including the full list of knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) associated with this position, use this link: Position Class Spec LinkMinimum QualificationsTwo (2) years of responsible experience in road construction, road construction inspection, construction management, civil engineering, traffic engineering, or surveying, and work experience in an office or field setting; ORAn Associate's Degree in civil engineering or related field.Additional RequirmentsA valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record per Washington County policy.Selection Process: You can review our standard selection process here.Our commitment to you:Washington County is an equal opportunity employer committed to using a merit-based system in which recruiting, selecting, and advancing employees is based on knowledge, skills, and abilities.
