CDL Driver (Hazmat) Non-ExemptReports To: Operations ManagerCleburne, TXPVS DX, Inc, is a nationwide manufacturer and distributor of compressed gases and other water treatment chemicals. We are a safety conscious employer: the safety, security and welfare of fellow workers, the community and the environment are our #1 priority.Operations provides warehousing, packaging, transportation, bleach manufacture, and office support functions for the district or Company. The driver delivers chemicals and/or compressed gases and hazardous gas in cargo tank trucks. S. Department of Transportation regulations covering drivers and the shipping of hazardous materials/gasesHours of ServiceSkill in:Defensive DrivingRoll Stability ControlBraking ControlBacking and DockingConnection/Disconnection of Hoses & CouplingGauging & MeasurementManual TransmissionPre and Post Transfer ChecksTanker, flatbed and straight truck operationAbility to:Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy hoses, cylinders, equipment (often 50-75 lbs. or more) during loading, unloading and maintenance taskLoads and unloads cargo tanks, performing appropriate actions in the proper sequenceFrequently exerts forces equivalent to lifting up to 25 pounds or occasionally 50 poundsMay sit for long periods of time while drivingPrepares driver's logs and other transportation documentsWorks alone most of the normal workdayWorks with delivery deadlinesObserves and responds promptly to changing conditions, such as traffic, weather, and road conditionsVisually inspects vehicles, loaded materials and unloading facilities at customer locationsRead and understand training materialsWear required safety equipmentProvide quick reaction or immediate response to required situationsCooperate and get along with co-workers and customer representativesWork environment:Excessive NoiseExtreme Hot and Cold TemperaturesTraffic and weather conditionsHazardous materials, such as flammable liquids, corrosive materials and compressed gasesWork irregular hours, 12+ Hour shiftsPhysical demands:StandingWalking BendingStoopingClimbingReachingLifting regularlyTravel required:Travel to other plants may be required based on business needsAttendance:Drivers are expected to report to work on time and to work overtime or irregular hours, as needed, to meet customer needsGeneral Company policies regarding attendance, vacation, and leaves of absence apply.Required education and experienceHigh school diploma or equivalentClass A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements RequiredAbility to operate a Manual Transmission Tractor RequiredTwo years' verifiable experience operating a Commercial Tractor Trailer Tanker RequiredClear FMCSA Clearinghouse and satisfactory MVR & PSP (Good Driving Record) RequiredAbility to operate commercial vehicles across state lines RequiredAbility to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical RequiredReliable transportation RequiredStable employment history RequiredCandidate must reside in the Cleburne, TX or surrounding areaBenefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experienceMedical Insurance (low premium/low deductible)Dental (free to the employee)401(k) Company match $0.50 on the dollar, up to 6% of your eligible compensation11 paid holidays each yearCompany paid life insuranceTuition reimbursementPTOThe hiring process typically takes 2 to 3 weeks to complete.
