About the Job Surgical / Operating Room Tech (Adult) - Syracuse, NY 13210 (#25324) Location : Syracuse, NY 13210 Employment Type : Full-Time Compensation: $54 per hour Position Overview: Seeking an experienced Surgical / Operating Room Tech (CST) for a full-time role at an acute care academic medical center in Syracuse, NY. Ideal for professionals with trauma center or teaching hospital experience who excel in fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environments. Mix of day and evening shifts. Combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts. Qualifications: Certification - Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required. Experience - 3+ years recent OR experience (within last 4 years). Setting - Trauma center, teaching hospital, or similar facility. Skills - Scrub experience required. Additional - First-time travelers must have comparable facility experience. Required Experience: Trauma Orthopedics (Ortho) General Surgery ENT Vascular GYN Preferred Experience: Neurosurgery. Bariatric. GU (Genitourinary). Adult OR or similar specialty. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain sterile field for surgical procedures. Assist surgeons by passing instruments and anticipating needs. Perform surgical counts to ensure patient safety. Maintain strict aseptic and infection control standards. Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping. Handle specimens and prepare for lab analysis. Clean and restock operating room between cases. Monitor and maintain surgical equipment. Collaborate with surgical team for efficient patient care Participate in ongoing training and education.
