Administers treatments and physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The staff therapist participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department, and participates in CQI activities. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety, and fire safety programs.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nDemonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and other related criteria appropriate to the population in the assigned area.\nMaintains required core competencies.\nAccurately interprets referrals resulting in a proper and complete assessment of the patient.\nProactively communicates with other physical therapists when the presentation of the patient exceeds one's skill, knowledge, or understanding of the patient's condition.\nImplements the plan of care that attains expected clinical outcomes.\nCompletes all documentation thoroughly and charges accurately the same day treatment is rendered.\nDevelops, in conjunction with the patient and family, a set of realistic, reasonable goals with associated time frames and frequencies.\n\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n\nHigh School diploma or equivalent.\nCertificate, Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an approved and accredited program by the American Physical Therapy Association.\nCurrent licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist by the New Mexico Board of Physical Therapy.\nCurrent American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) card.\nAbility to read and communicate effectively in English; additional languages preferred.\nStrong written and verbal skills; basic computer knowledge.\nKnowledge of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology.\n\n\nWhy ARMStaffing?\nAt ARMStaffing, we take care of our employees!
