Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

We are looking for a highly proficient Medical Biller/Coder to join a fantastic team in Tulsa, OK. The insurance biller plays a vital role in supporting our revenue cycle by ensuring timely and accurate billing, follow-up, and collection of insurance claims. This position works collaboratively with the Accounts Receivable Supervisor to review problem accounts, identify solutions, and help maintain the financial health of our organization while supporting the patients we serve. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two (2) years experience in a medical office setting; billing and collections experience preferred. NextGen experience preferred. Essential Skills and Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively. Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative team player. Primary Responsibilities Review patient records to ensure accurate coding (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS) and billing. Submit claims to insurance carriers via electronic or paper formats in accordance with coding guidelines. Follow up on unpaid claims, research denials, and file appeals with insurance companies. Communicate problem accounts to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor and collaborate on resolution strategies. Answer patient phone calls regarding billing and establish payment plans when appropriate and agreeable. Secondary Responsibilities Provide backup support for other department staff as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned. Pay: $18+ per hour, depending on experience.
