Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionPosition OverviewThe Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines. This role ensures all dishes are consistently prepared, properly portioned, visually appealing, and delivered in a timely manner.The Line Cook supports overall kitchen operations by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This position will also be trained to perform server duties and may assist the dining team during service as needed.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport a positive dining experience reflecting Stage Management's philosophy of service and hospitalityPrepare, cook, and plate food items according to established recipes, portion requirements, and presentation standardsOperate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, grills, fryers, slicers, and mixersMaintain cleanliness and organization of all assigned workstations and equipmentFollow food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, storage, labeling, and temperature controlAssist with inventory control by reporting shortages, rotating stock, and minimizing food wasteWork collaboratively with kitchen staff, servers, and supervisors to ensure smooth and timely serviceAssist with receiving, inspecting, and storing food and suppliesAdhere to all company policies, health department regulations, and industry best practicesSupport dining service by performing server responsibilities when requested, including taking orders, delivering meals, and setting and cleaning tablesPerform other duties as assigned by the Sous Chef or Executive ChefQualificationsPrior experience in food service, fine dining, line cook, catering, banquet, healthcare dietary, or senior living preferred but not requiredHigh school diploma or GED preferredKnowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen proceduresAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressureStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityEffective communication and teamwork skillsSkills RequiredStrong organizational skills and workstation cleanlinessAbility to multitask and prioritize during busy service periodsFlexibility to support both kitchen and dining service needsComposure and effectiveness under pressureProfessionalism and reliability in appearance and conductWorking ConditionsFast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, noise, food allergens, and cleaning chemicalsFrequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reachingUse of sharp tools, hot surfaces, and kitchen machineryAvailability required for evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 poundsAbility to work safely around hot equipment and kitchen hazardsReasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with the ADAHours and Dress CodeNon-exempt, hourly. Weekday and weekend availability is mandatory. Uniform or approved dining attire required.Compensation$22.00 - $25.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
