You will work with a highly collaborative, multi-functional technical team that is committed to improving the value of our technology solutions. You will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining the enterprise-level database systems that store, organize, and manage an organization's critical data. This role is a hybrid of software engineering and database expertise, focused on building foundational database solutions and best practices for engineering teamsThe team blends deep technology and business expertise with a passion for exploring and implementing new emerging technologies, while working in an open and transparent way.In this position you will work to design, maintain and enhance database solutions for the AWS and Azure cloud and on-prem platforms. This role requires Oracle database administration, platform engineering and automation to create a highly available and scalable environment.The Expertise and Skills You Bring3-5+ years of experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering role across Linux and Engineered systems.Experience working on various Cloud Options (AWS/Azure - fully managed/IAAS)Expertise in Terraform, Jenkins, Artifactory, GitHub and CFTStrong Linux system administration skillsUtilize scripting Python, Groovy, Jenkins, Java, and/or shells to automate various tasksBuild, test, and deploy automated CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable application updatesUsing Git repositories to manage code changes, pull requests, and automation workflowsExperience in configuring alerts and monitors using tools like Data Dog, OEM and OTEL to create a highly available platformStrong experience in production support and maintenance of high availability systems with ability to manage large scale database projects, including participation in US on-call scheduleAbility to evaluate and propose best-of-breed tools and engineering best-practicesExperience and comfort in working on multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong communication and influencing skillsExperience in mentoring and coaching other engineers on the teamAn advocate for software engineering best practices and principlesParticipates in Agile Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectivesAssists in backlog grooming and sprint tracking using Jira and ConfluenceImplement and enforce database security measures, ensure compliance with data governance policies, and manage access controls to safeguard sensitive dataThe Value You DeliverStrong sense of ownership for the quality of solution delivery and executionAbility to prioritize work in fast paced environmentDefine and lead development standards and coding best practices for teamPerforms independent technical and functional analysis for multiple projectsDevelops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiativesSupports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementationProvides guidance and mentoring to other engineersRepresents technology solutions to our business partnersMay serve as on-call resource to support the organization's service and escalation modelPOC design solutions to prove best data engineering practices keeping in mind effective utilization of database features and performance centric approachParticipating in code review and unit testing and providing support on issues in development or production
