The 12-storey building is located around the corner from the White House and sits above the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream, formerly the historic Riggs Bank Corcoran branch.The Club has a Rooftop Terrace and Loft Restaurant with views overlooking the White House, US Treasury and Washington Monument, plus a Founder’s Dining Room, The Library, Drawing Room, Gallery and Conservatory. On level nine, there is a self-contained floor of private event spaces.As the right hand of the Executive Chef and a leader of our kitchen operations, you will:Working with and reporting to our Executive Chef to lead the team in the production of our food for the restaurant and events, compiling the daily mise-en-place, and ensuring that all food is cooked and presented to our exceptional Ned standardsLead our kitchen operations whenever the Executive Chef is not on duty, deputizing and handling the day-to-daySupport with all people leadership tasks - including team recruitment, development and performance chats, onboarding new starters - this is a great role for an aspiring Executive Chef who wants to build their people management skillsetBe a guardian of food quality and presentation, monitoring all food leaving your kitchen and providing coaching and feedback to the team where neededCreate and monitor a safe and clean kitchen environment, protecting our guests and team from any possible harmProtect our excellent food safety ratings and audit standards by always keeping a close eye on procedures and practices, keeping impeccable records, and implementing action plans where necessaryA mainstay of our kitchen team, you’ll be preparing all meat, fish, poultry, and vegetablesWhat you can bring to the role: Previous kitchen leadership experience with a proven track record of delivering outstanding food and people managementOur customers and guests expect the best, so high standards are essentialAn organized and detailed manner is necessary, as impeccable record keeping is needed to maintain records for our safety and audit standardsA commercial mindset is needed in all our leaders. As second in command you will support your Executive Chef in delivering excellent financial performance and resultsCreative flare is always welcome - our menus change seasonally, and you may be offered the opportunity to support with food design and creationOur kitchens can be high pressure so a calm demeanor and a genuine passion for providing guests with exceptional food is essentialIdeally the person in this role would be preparing to be our next Executive Chef, so a desire to learn and progress is preferred, but not essentialWhat can Ned’s Club give you?
