Human Resource Supervisor
Job Title: Human Resources SupervisorReports to: Human Resources DirectorPosition SummaryThe Human Resources Supervisor provides full-cycle HR leadership for a meat packing facility, supporting plant operations in a fast-paced, production-driven, and safety-focused environment. This role oversees recruitment, employee relations, compliance, payroll and HRIS administration, workforce planning, performance management, training, and engagement initiatives.As a key member of the plant leadership team, the HR Supervisor partners closely with the Plant Manager and department supervisors to align workforce strategy with operational goals, ensuring regulatory compliance, productivity, employee safety, and a positive workplace culture.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Recruitment & StaffingLead hourly and salaried recruitment efforts, including high-volume hiring for production roles.Develop sourcing strategies to maintain adequate staffing levels across shifts.Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and job-specific training in partnership with operations.Ensure new hires meet regulatory, safety, and company requirements.Employee RelationsServe as the primary HR contact for employee concerns, investigations, and conflict resolution.Conduct prompt, fair, and thorough investigations into workplace complaints.Provide coaching to supervisors on discipline, documentation, and performance management.Promote a respectful, inclusive, and compliant workplace environment.Support retention efforts in a high-turnover manufacturing setting.Maintain personnel files and ensure documentation meets company and legal standards.Manage benefits enrollment, changes, and employee communications.Performance Management & TrainingGuide Supervisors performance evaluations and corrective action processes.Identify training needs and coordinate leadership development, safety training, and compliance programs.Workforce Planning & Operational PartnershipCollaborate with plant leadership to forecast staffing needs based on production volumes.Analyze turnover, absenteeism, and workforce trends to recommend improvements.Participate in daily production meetings to maintain visibility and engagement on the plant floor.Support organizational changes, restructures, or workforce reductions as needed.Safety & CultureReinforce a strong safety culture in partnership with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS).Promote employee engagement initiatives that align with plant goals and company values.Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the workforce.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.3-5+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing, food processing, meat packing, or industrial environment preferred.Experience supporting high-volume hourly workforces.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of employment law, wage and hour regulations, and workplace investigations.Experience in a USDA-regulated or food production environment preferred.Ability to occasionally work effectively in a cold, wet, and production-driven plant setting.Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.Strong conflict resolution and coaching skills.Proficiency in HRIS systems Paycom is a plusProficiency with Microsoft officeAbility to balance employee advocacy with operational and business priorities.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
