We bring precision, integrity, and deep expertise to some of the nation's most complex and sensitive programs.Position SummaryFusion is seeking a highly motivated Controls Engineer to join our Industrial Control Systems (ICS) team. The Controls Engineer will provide onsite and remote engineering, programming, troubleshooting, operations, and maintenance support for a diverse portfolio of industrial control and building automation systems.The primary focus of this position will be the development, enhancement, and support of AVEVA Plant SCADA applications and Tridium Niagara 4 SCADA systems. The Controls Engineer will develop and maintain SCADA graphics, operator interfaces, alarms, trends, tags, scripts, communications, and system configurations in accordance with customer standards, engineering requirements, and established ICS practices.The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with SCADA, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), PLC or DDC controllers, building automation systems, industrial networks, and industrial communication protocols. Manufacturer training for the specific SCADA and PLC platforms will be provided upon hire. The engineer will work across multiple technologies and facilities, troubleshoot technical issues, and support systems throughout their operational lifecycle.This position requires an engineer who is self-directed, analytical, detail-oriented, and effective at working in a remote capacity as well as onsite startups and commissioning. The successful candidate will be able to independently diagnose problems, develop practical solutions, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and take ownership of assignments from initial requirements through implementation, commissioning, documentation, and ongoing support.Security Clearance RequirementActive DoD clearanceMust be able pass Government background check and obtain approval from customer's security teamKey Responsibilities:O&M SupportProvide support for existing SCADA system and associated control-system equipmentWork with multiple control-system platforms, including AVEVA Plant SCADA, Tridium Niagara 4, JCI Metasys, and ABB PLCsTroubleshoot complex hardware, software, communications, controls, and system-integration issues across multiple facilitiesSupport preventive and corrective maintenance activities and provide advanced technical support for operational control systemsSupport configuration management, version control, backups, disaster recovery, and lifecycle management for control-system applicationsSCADA Development & ImplementationDevelop and maintain AVEVA Plant SCADA (previously known as Citect) applications, including graphics, screens, navigation, alarming, trends, scripting, tags, templates, and user interfacesIntegrate AVEVA Plant SCADA with PLCs, DDC systems, databases, equipment, and other enterprise and industrial systemsIntegrate and troubleshoot industrial communications using protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU, BACnet MSTP/TCP, OPC UA/DA, and other industrial protocolsEngineering & Project SupportSupport the implementation of new SCADA graphics, equipment integrations, system upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle-replacement projectsPerform system testing, commissioning, validation, and acceptance activitiesDevelop and maintain system documentation, control narratives, sequence-of-operations, test documentation, network diagrams, configuration records, and other engineering deliverablesCollaborate with IT, cybersecurity, engineering, operations, facilities, vendors, and government stakeholdersQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree (required) in Electrical, Controls Systems, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering/technical disciplineMinimum of two (2) years of professional experience working with industrial control systems, such as PLCs, DDCs, SCADA, HMIs, or similar systemsTechnical SkillsExperience with DDC, PLCs, process systems, and building automationStrong SCADA programming and troubleshooting skillset with industrial control systemsAbility to diagnose control-system problems across multiple technologies and determine root causeAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, network diagrams, P&IDs, control narratives, and sequence-of-operation documentationStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teamsSpecialized Application Experience (highly desirable)AVEVA Citect SCADA Certified Expert (CSCE) or AVEVA Plant SCADANiagara 4Facility Explorer® (FX) Supervisory ControllersJCI MetasysABB PLCsTravel- Approximately 10% for onsite startup/commissioningWhy Work for Fusion?At Fusion, we believe exceptional work begins with exceptional people.
