This position is pivotal in a growing organization that is preparing for significant portfolio expansion. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build, lead, and shape the accounting team and processes during this key growth phase. As the VP of Accounting, you will be the true number two, with visibility into strategic decisions and deal activity, and will be responsible for creating structure, improving processes, and elevating the overall finance function.Key responsibilities for the VP of Accounting include leading and developing the accounting team, overseeing financial reporting, and managing HUD/residential real estate accounting and compliance. The role also involves partnering with the CFO on cash flow, financial strategy, and scaling the finance function. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of accounting experience within real estate, with a strong preference for those with residential/HUD exposure. Proven leadership experience in managing and developing accounting teams, as well as a background in financial reporting for external stakeholders and investors, is essential.
