We are a TAP school!Reports To / TermPrincipalThis is a Full-Time 10-month position.ResponsibilitiesDevelop a comprehensive Award-Winning Arts Program encompassing Grades 5-12 to include, but not limited to, Concert Band, Marching Band, Beginning Band, Orchestra, Drumline, Choir, Jazz, Theater, and DramaDirect and Organize Plays, Performances, and Concerts.Create K-12 "Feeder Program" for the Arts fostering excitement, enthusiasm and generating community interest in the Arts.Lead students to State Band and Vocal Competitions developing confidence and building student self-esteem.Meet with parents and community to promote programs, generate interest, and display student work and talent.Teach and actively plan sequentially for concert bands grades 6-12 (6th grade beginning band, 7th grade Intermediate, 8th grade advanced, 9-12 High School Concert Band).Teach one music history or music theory course to high school studentsOther extracurricular activities may include jazz band and pep band, Orchestra performances, Choir performances, Plays/Drama NightsQualificationsMust have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from an accredited universityPossess an Indiana Music Teaching LicenseKnowledge in wind, percussion, and orchestra pedagogyKnowledge of Marching Band techniquesKnowledge of Orchestra techniquesKnowledge of Choir/Vocal techniquesKnowledge of Theater and Drama techniquesAbility to work with additional staff members and music colleaguesOrganized and good communication skillJ-18808-Ljbffr
