Provisioning Technician (Intern)

A Provisioning Technician - Level 1 is an entry level position requiring minimum 1 years' experience with Windows and Apple hardware and software. This position is responsible for preparing Microsoft Windows and Mac OSX workstations and laptops for deployment to GXA clients. This is documented process that will require a successful candidate follow instructions, manage work requests and install devices onsite. In addition, learn how to manage inventory, check-in equipment, and ensure customer's database is accurate with correct technology inventory on hand.ResponsibilitiesSet up hardware and install and configure software and driversPrepare technological equipmentPerform regular upgrades to ensure systems remain updatedPerform general maintenance tasks, troubleshoots and repairs computer systems. This would include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performancePreparing new systems for deployment and coordinating installation with the end user. Updating appropriate inventory systems to reflect the current system statusRespond to assigned work orders and maintain accurate and timely documentation of progress in work order database. Promote creation of knowledge base Learn how to manage technology inventoryRequirementsThorough knowledge of computer systems and IT componentsGood knowledge of internet security and data privacy principlesVery good communication abilitiesExceptional organizing and time-management skillsRelevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+) will be an advantage BSc/BA in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field Excellent customer service skillsPossess the ability to understand and follow instructions
