This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a collaborative environment, meaningful work, and a mix of accounting, grant billing, and operational support responsibilities.About the OrganizationMission-driven nonprofit supporting human services and retail programsSupportive, family-oriented culture with a laid-back but deadline-driven environmentModern, open office facility with a mix of private offices and cubiclesTeam-oriented accounting department with strong collaboration across programsStable and growing organization with long-term career potentialFree on-site parking and flexible scheduling opportunitiesResponsibilities of the Staff AccountantPrepare and post general ledger entries and support month-end close activitiesThe Staff Accountant will perform account reconciliations and analyze financial data for accuracy and completenessRun and analyze general ledger reports and financial activityPrepare grant and contract billing, including cost reimbursement invoicingAssemble payroll and expense detail for monthly invoices submitted to funding sourcesThe Staff Accountant will review financial information with Program Directors prior to invoice submissionSupport quarterly spend-down reviews and grant compliance trackingPartner with Program Managers regarding budgeting projections, spending activity, compliance matters, and audit supportAssist with audit preparation and supporting documentationThe Staff Accountant will provide support to the accounting team and assist with AP oversight as neededQualifications of the Staff Accountant RoleBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit or grant-funded environmentsExperience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reportingGrant billing or contract invoicing experience strongly preferredStrong understanding of general ledger activity and account analysisIntermediate Excel skills required, including IF formulas, XLOOKUPs, and pivot tablesIdeal CandidateRespectful, personable, and dependableThrives during busy close periods while remaining team-orientedComfortable collaborating with both finance staff and program leadershipEnjoys working in a supportive and mission-focused environment#INMAY2026
