Join us-and be part of something built to last.Briefly explain job details CMT Technical Services is seeking an experienced Construction Materials Field Technician to support construction projects throughout the Denver, Colorado area. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys working outdoors, performing field testing, and ensuring construction materials meet project specifications and quality standards.Compensation: $24-32/hour (DOE)Location: Denver, ColoradoFLSA Exemption: Non-ExemptSchedule: Full-time; hours may vary based on project demandsWhat you'll be doing: Perform routine field testing of construction materials to verify compliance with project plans and specificationsConduct field tests on materials including:Fresh concrete (slump, air, temperature, cylinders)Soil compaction and density testingAggregate sampling and observationAccurately document test results and complete daily reports and datasheetsCommunicate professionally with contractors, project managers, inspectors, and internal teamsMaintain and safely operate testing equipment in accordance with company proceduresSupport additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor based on project needsWhat you have: High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 2+ years of construction materials testing experience in the fieldValid driver's license with acceptable driving record and clean MVRAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditionsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accurate reportingGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively both independently and in a team environmentFamiliarity with Microsoft Office and basic computer reporting toolsAbility to pass a drug screening and background checkWhat will make you stand out: Experience working on CDOT transportation or public infrastructure projectsStrong knowledge of ASTM/AASHTO field testing proceduresAdditional certifications beyond minimum requirementsPositive attitude, strong initiative, and customer-service mindsetDesire to grow into advanced testing, inspection, or leadership roles at CMTPreferred Certification(s): Required or ability to obtain shortly after hire:ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade IWAQTC In-Place Density Certification (commonly required for Colorado/CDOT projects)Preferred:WAQTC Embankment & BaseACI Strength Testing TechnicianNICET Construction Materials Testing (Soils, Concrete, or Asphalt – Level I or II)Nuclear Gauge Safety / Radiation Safety TrainingCMT provides financial assistance for certifications, renewals, PDHs, and continuing education.CMT Technical Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
