Compensation & LocationLocation: Torrance, CAPay Range: $59.00 – $66.00 per hour (based on experience and internal equity)Schedule: Full-time, contract; long-term opportunityWork Type: 4 days on-site; 1 day remoteBenefits: Health, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, 401k, Continuing and on-demand education📍 Must be willing to work onsite in Torrance, CA (LA County)✅ Sponsorship is available for this role‼️ ONLY W2 – NO CORP to CORP – NO 3rd PartiesPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Mainframe Developer to support application development and production support for large-scale loan and lease servicing systems within an enterprise automotive finance environment.This role focuses on COBOL-based development, batch processing optimization, and troubleshooting production issues across mission-critical systems.Key ResponsibilitiesApplication Development & SupportDevelop and maintain mainframe applications supporting loan and lease servicing systemsProvide production support, including troubleshooting online and batch abendsParticipate in development, testing, and deployment of system enhancementsMainframe Technologies & ProcessingWork with IBM mainframe technologies including COBOL, CICS, DB2, MQ, and JCLEvaluate and optimize batch processing to improve performance and reduce processing windowsSupport both online transaction processing and batch environmentsAnalysis & TroubleshootingPerform impact analysis across multiple systems and platformsResearch and resolve production issues in a timely mannerSupport root cause analysis and long-term fixesDocumentation & DeliveryCreate and maintain documentation for estimates, design, and developmentFollow established testing practices including unit testing and validationOn-Call SupportProvide off-hours support for production batch processes as neededRequired QualificationsStrong experience with IBM mainframe technologies (COBOL, CICS, DB2, MQ, JCL)Experience supporting and troubleshooting batch and online systemsExperience performing impact analysis across multiple applicationsExperience with production support and issue resolutionStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience in automotive finance or financial services industryExperience with loan and lease servicing systemsFamiliarity with FIS / Systematics platformsKnowledge of financial processes (payments, collections, delinquency, repossession, etc.)Experience with unit testing practices and deliverables3+ years of Big 4 consulting experienceStable work history within large enterprise organizations
