Line Cooks and Prep Cooks
We are actively looking to add a Line Cook and a Prep Cook to our quickly growing team here at The Nighthawk's Kitchen. We are a stand alone restaurant next door to Mast Landing Brewery Company in Freeport for whom we are the exclusive food provider/culinary partner.

Our entire space is new including the kitchen and all of the cooking equipment. It features a state of the art heating and cooling system that brings in fresh clean temperature controlled air every 15 minutes. Even on the hottest days we will be cooler than your average kitchen!
We are looking for a full time or part time employees for these positions and pay is competitive based on experience. We believe it’s about building the right team with the right people.
Job Responsibilities:
Preparing ingredients for the shift; washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc.
Setting up, organizing, and cleaning work stations
Stocking and maintaining levels of food on the line
Food and workstation preparation and portioning prior to service
Taking orders from wait staff or computerized system
Cooking and preparing all menu items in accordance to standards set by the Chef
Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes
Handling multiple food orders at one time
Reordering stock and food supplies
Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed
Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment
Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Skills:
Enjoys a fast-paced environment
Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for shift
Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
Knowledge of food and work station sanitation
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Self-motivated and self-directed
Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
Able to quickly memorize complex or multiple orders
Strong organizational skills
Patience
Communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is desirable
Training from a culinary school is an asset
Proven experience as a station chef is an asset
