Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Technician
We are looking for a skilled Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Technician to join our Saraland, AL team. This field-based role involves installing, programming, commissioning, and maintaining advanced HVAC and BAS control systems in commercial and institutional facilities. The ideal candidate is experienced with platforms like Tridium Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric, enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, and can independently handle diverse projects in Saraland. You’ll work closely with engineers, project managers, and electricians to ensure optimal system performance while documenting as-built configurations and providing end-user support.
Responsibilities:
Install, program, and commission BAS devices, HVAC controllers, and networked control systems across Saraland projects
Troubleshoot and service Tridium Niagara N4, Honeywell, and Schneider Electric platforms
Integrate third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks protocols
Perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on BAS equipment
Collaborate with project teams, including engineers and electricians, to ensure smooth project execution
Prepare detailed commissioning and service reports documenting system modifications
Provide technical guidance, system walkthroughs, and end-user training
Assist with system upgrades, retrofits, and BAS integration initiatives in Saraland facilities

Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in BAS or HVAC controls installation, programming, or service
Strong knowledge of Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric BAS platforms
Solid understanding of HVAC systems, control strategies, and building automation concepts
Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, riser diagrams, and submittals
Experience with low-voltage wiring, terminations, and networked communication systems
Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel to project sites in Saraland, AL
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
Preferred Skills:
Niagara N4 certification or other OEM-specific training
Familiarity with energy dashboards or analytics platforms
Basic networking skills, including IP addressing and switch configuration
Experience with retrofits, system integrations, and BAS upgrades
