This position involves a blend of R&D testing, flight operations, and product refinement, requiring strong technical expertise and exceptional piloting skills. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers to develop FPV systems, execute test flights, and provide feedback to drive an increase in product performance and reliability.ResponsibilitiesR&D Testing & Development:Develop and retain a deep understanding of product functionality and capabilitiesConduct test flights and provide technical feedbackCollaborate with engineers on air and ground systems, assisting in design feedback, testing, and refinementWork on precision soldering, mechanical assembly, 3D printing, and flight software, to support rapid iteration and testingAssist in hands-on prototyping and hardware developmentAssist in developing and improving test procedures and safety protocolsFlight Operations & PilotingLine-of-Sight acro flyingFirst-Person-View acro flyingPerform flight tests and observe system performance, reliability, and handlingAdapting well to uncomfortable situations/performing under pressureOperating within FAA Part 107 regulationsYou should have the followingSkilled acro FPV drone pilotingExpert in BetaflightPID tuning and blackboxStrong technical understanding of UAV systems (both air and ground components)Part 107 certified (or ability to obtain within two weeks of start date)Proficiency in safety and risk assessmentMechanical assembly experience, including hands-on work with UAV componentsKnowledge of electrical systems and how they integrate into UAV platformsHigh attention to detailStrong documentation and communication skillsAbility to adapt to challenging environments and remain composed under pressureUS Salary Range$90,000 - $140,000+ USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
