Drugs and Druggists' Sundries Merchant WholesalersMachinery, Equipment, and Supplies Merchant WholesalersProfessional and Commercial Equipment and Supplies Merchant WholesalersMiscellaneous Nondurable Goods Merchant WholesalersGrocery and Related Product Merchant WholesalersJob SummaryCompensation: $76,230 - $106,722The DC Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including ensuring safety and security, managing order fulfillment and customer deliveries, organizing the warehouse, conducting inventory counts, maintaining equipment, and supporting inside sales activities.Responsibilities/Duties Inventory Management:Ensure supplier orders are input regularly to reflect proper materials and quantities in conjunction with usages and business needsEnsure adequate stock of materials are always on hand utilizing inventory planning systemsWork with branch sales teams to forecast future inventory material needs and changesPurchase warehouse consumables such as pallets, boxes, shrink wrap, etc.Perform inventories (cycle counting) as required per company policy to ensure accuracy of stockWork with inventory management to resolve discrepanciesUnload and receive stock replenishment materials into warehousePut away received goods according to company receiving policiesNote any damaged goods in the receiving process Customer Service and Sales Support:Provide excellent customer service for all customers, including assisting walk-in customers and referring them to a Sales Representative as neededHave knowledge of IDI’s product offerings and pricing to assist in sales effortsAssist customers with picking and loading purchased goods, ensuring accuracy against customer sales ordersRepresent the company in a customer-sensitive manner during all customer and supplier interactions at the warehouse or customer/supplier sitesCollect payment per established credit terms and assist the credit department as neededMaximize routing efforts by calling customers located within each route to generate sales and utilize the truck to its best capacity Safety and Compliance:Have a working knowledge of all DOT rules and regulations governing the safe operation of company-issued equipmentExperience in utilizing Electronic Log Data (ELD) per DOT requirementsPerform regular inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure safety complianceConduct thorough safety training as prescribed by company, OSHA, and DOT guidelines and maintain required safety certificationsReport any incidents as prescribed by company guidelinesEnsure clear and safe passage in all warehouse aisles and loading docks Warehouse Operations:Ensure proper warehouse organization and production flowEnsure compliance in maintaining all warehouse equipmentPull materials to fill orders via a pick ticket in an organized fashionPerform multiple quality control checks to ensure accuracy of shipped goods Employee Management:Keep good records of required employee documents such as driver’s licenses and DOT medical cards – ensure these documents are kept up to dateEnsure proper training of employees in all DOT/OSHA regulations, document requirements, truck maintenance, warehouse processes, etc.Supervise proper completion of driving logs and truck inspectionsFurnish disciplinary actions when neededApprove timesheets and PTO requests as required Administrative Duties:Complete reports as requested by CorporateKeep good records of orders, customer conversations, employee forms, etc.Cover for Branch Manager as neededOther duties as beneficial to IDILeadership Competencies Leads SelfCommunicates Effectively & CandidlyDrives for ResultsDemonstrates AccountabilityTakes InitiativeCollaborates Leads OthersSelects Top TalentDevelops OthersThinks StrategicallyBuilds a Strong CultureQualifications/Skills Customer Relations:Ability to create lasting relationships with customersDemonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills Technical Skills:Operate material handling equipment including a forklift, pallet jack, and shrink wrapperIdentify product numbers and alpha/numeric codesProficiency in basic computer skills including MS Office and ERP systems (SAP, GP, Oracle) Physical and Operational Requirements:Must meet the physical requirements of the position Leadership and Training:Supervise, train, and provide work direction to othersAdaptability and Initiative:Adapt and react to changes promptlyTake initiative to encourage and suggest improvements in processesEducation/ExperienceHigh school diploma required, college degree preferred or equivalent education and experience2 – 4+ years’ experience in warehouse leadership preferredForklift experience preferredLicensures And Other RequirementsMust meet all DOT, State and/or Legal requirements that pertain to this positionOne of the core values at IDI is Family, and it shows in our benefits!
