Certified Recovery Support Specialist

Maitri Path to Wellness is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) to join our team. Position Overview: As a Certified Recovery Support Specialist at Maitri Path to Wellness, you will play a pivotal role in empowering adults on their journey to recovery from substance use disorders. In this position, you will leverage your unique experiences and training to provide guidance, support, and advocacy for our clients. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety and adherence to recovery programs, coordinating clinical schedules, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with a dedicated team to deliver comprehensive care. This role is instrumental in fostering an environment of respect, empowerment, and positive change, making a significant impact on the lives of those we serve. Key Responsibilities: Work in a professional office environment, assisting with patient activities, safety checks, group facilitation, and therapeutic interactions. Facilitate clinical schedules, patient flow, and assist in individual session attendance. Perform admissions, discharges, and documentation tasks, including patient belongings search and documentation. Monitor and participate in patient activities, ensuring their safety and well-being. Utilize technology effectively for documentation and communication. Understand and apply the principles of 12-Step Programs/other mutual support groups in the recovery process. Carry out any other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year of experience in addiction services. Basic understanding of how mental health impacts substance use disorders, cooccurring disorders. Recovery Support Specialist Certification by the Illinois Certification Board (IAODAPCA), or a plan to obtain within the next 12-months. Strong organizational skills and proficiency in MS Office applications. Excellent communication, customer service, problem-solving, and time management abilities. Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment. Work Environment: This role operates in a professional office setting with standard equipment. Local travel is expected, with occasional out-of-area and overnight travel. Per diem work schedule, involving direct patient care and monitoring. Compensation and Benefits: Starting at $16 per hour.
