New PostgreSQL Database Architect Springfield, VA Apply **ACTIVE TS/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED** D2 has an immediate need for a PostgreSQL Database Architect to analyze, design, develop, implement, and support database infrastructure deployment and management. Responsibilities:Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers running on one or more operating systemsMaintains database integrity and security, configures role-based access control (RBAC), and sets up administrative accountsSets up, administers, and services accountsMaintain documentation for configurations, standards, and proceduresInteracts with users and evaluates vendor productsDevelops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resourcesDevelops and implements testing strategies and document resultsProvides advice on performance tuning and training to end-usersMaintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assignedEvaluates open-source or vendor tools and participates in database migration/special modernization projectsCollaborates with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored proceduresPlans and executes database upgrades, patching, and migrationsEnsures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements What We're Looking For Required:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience5+ years of related database analysis and/or administration experiencePostgreSQL experience required. Oracle database administration is a plusExperience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning; including knowledge and implementation of database high-availability solutions and performance tuningExperience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alertsExperience with database backup, restore, migration, and database snapshot technologies/strategiesKnowledge on how to build/maintain efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse dataMigration experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL,TS/SCI clearance Bonus Points For:CompTIA Security+ or equivalent What to Expect Day-to-Day You'll work with moderate autonomy — trusted to manage your workload and make good technical decisions without someone looking over your shoulder. The salary range for this position is typically $130 - $140k.
