Sonographer
Well-established Women's breast Imaging organization is seeking an RDMS-certified Ultrasound Technologist on a PRN basis with breast sonography experience for our beautiful Foley, AL and Fairhope, AL locations. We have 17 physical locations that provide state-of-the-art 2D / 3D diagnostic medical imaging services specializing in digital mammography and breast ultrasound. In addition, we have 15 client sites in and around Atlanta.
The Ultrasound Technologist performs a variety of ultrasound procedures in an outpatient setting while maintaining a high level of customer service and quality patient care. Must be experienced in breast ultrasound procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist and demonstrating compassion to ensure overall patient satisfaction. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine breast ultrasound procedures following the protocols established by the radiologist.
Properly inputs all required patient information into the system including the protocol, patient history in full sentences, performing providers, and any additional information to the radiologist regarding the procedure.
Obtains complete and detailed history to assist the radiologist with the diagnosis of each patient.
Performs exams in an accurate and timely manner.
Properly identifies patients and demonstrates compassion while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Maintains exam rooms by stocking exam rooms with necessary supplies.
Maintains equipment and reports any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or appropriate service provider.
Properly windows and levels images for film printing and burns CDs as necessary.
Promotes teamwork by assisting other staff as needed.
Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Completion of a course in Ultrasound; Current RDMS certification
Sonography: 2 years (Preferred)
License: RDMS (Required)
SKILLS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Skills in properly positioning patients and obtaining diagnostic images, identifying equipment problems, and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
This job requires prolonged sitting or standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching.
Normal vision range with the absence of color blindness, normal hearing, and normal eye-to-hand coordination and manual dexterity; the ability to distinguish letters and symbols. This position may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
