SUMMARY
The Weatherization Technician performs basic tasks necessary to weatherizing houses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
1. Uses various skilled tools such as skill saws, jigsaws, routers, and cordless/electrical
drills to perform weatherization duties.
2. Installs insulation in attics, walls, and under floors.
3. Repairs existing doors, windows, foundations, roofs, and siding.
4. Responsible for basic weatherization to houses such as insulating, caulking, and weather
stripping.
5. Responsible for maintenance and care of tools.
6. Performs air tests on houses with blower door machine.
7. Assists in the loading of materials for each job.
8. Other duties as assigned

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of basic hand tool usage.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability
to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral
instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized
situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
Must have valid driver’s license and meet Missouri automobile liability minimum requirements.
Must have or be able to obtain Retrofit Installer Training Certification, OSHA Confined Space,
Lead renovator, and OSHA 10.
