Cross Cat Teacher (Grades K-2)

DutiesWork collaboratively with all special education and general education staffWork under the direction of the building principalProvide instruction as determined by the students' IEPsParticipate in the development of comprehensive Individual Education Plans for identified students including behavior intervention plansProvide consultation, technical assistance and training to teachers and parents of students experiencing learning or behavioral problemsProvide information to parents relative to strategies that can be used at home to support the school's effortsTake responsibility for implementation of IEPs for students on assigned caseloadOther duties as assignedQualificationsValid Illinois PEL with LBS1 elementary endorsementSuccessful teaching or student teaching experienceStrong interpersonal communication skills in working with general education teachers, students, parents and staffStrong knowledge base of secondary curriculumStrong organizational skillsStrong problem-solving skillsStrong knowledge of intervention strategies and progress monitoring experienceAbility to model teaching strategies to meet the needs of students' various learning stylesAbility to informally assess learning and/or behavioral needs of students & address those needs using documented dataSalary/BenefitsIn accordance with current SEA negotiated agreement; Go to the 26-27 SEA Salary Schedule to view the SEA Salary ScheduleAdditional NotesFirst contractual day of the 2026-2027 District 186 180-day calendarHow to ApplyGo to https://www.sps186.org/page/human-resources and click on.
