Job TypeFull-TimeLocationDallas - Plano, TX 75024 US (Primary)SalaryCategoryEngineer# of Hires Needed1Job DescriptionTransportation Design Technician | Plano, TXThe applicant will assist engineers and Senior CAD Technicians in the development of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, and MicroStation Connect OBM developed plans and details with a primary focus on structures and roadway plan production.Responsibilities:Daily in person presence at the Plano, TX Office locationObtain guidance from Structural & Roadway Engineers, and Senior CAD TechniciansUse computer drafting software to prepare high-quality design plans for roadway & bridge projectsProduce roadway and bridge/structures plan sheets using MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD)Correct mark-up drawingsTake verbal direction and hand sketches to create CAD format detailsManage project data filesAssist in assembling complete plan sets for TxDOT and municipal projectsEnsure sheets comply with DOT standardsQualifications:5-10 years of related industry experienceProficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads, and plan productionAbility to read and interpret engineering construction drawingsFamiliarity with DOT standardsExperience producing bridge/structures plan sheetsAbility to think 3-dimensionallyAbility to work independently and accomplish multiple tasksTeam-focused and enthusiasticAssociates Degree or Technical CollegeJob RequirementsAbout KCAKCA is a minority-owned multidisciplinary engineering firm that has served the transportation industry for 50 years.
